I Love You Google Earth

Rowan — Fri, 03 Jun 2011 07:12:26 +0000

Google Earth, I swear sometimes you are just too awesome. Best tribute to the Blues Brothers – Ever. (Movie geeks take note: The actual bridge jumped by Jake and Elroy was in Chicago, not Jersey – but I digress.) (Via)

Character Mashups

The BrewMaster — Fri, 03 Jun 2011 06:23:25 +0000

MrWhaite (tumblr, twitter) has got a lot of good stuff going right now, but one of the best things he’s got going on is his current collection of character combinations where he takes props and costumes over an actors’ career and then mashes it all into one great image.

Thundercats IRL

Rowan — Fri, 03 Jun 2011 06:23:01 +0000

Well, not totally IRL. That would just be so way fucking awesome the universe would divide by zero and implode. But Kari Fry made this scrumptiously realistic tee just for you. Personally. No, not you – YOU! So go to woot and buy it – now! Actual Cats, HOOO!

Alternate Title: Game of Blades. Anthony Brian Villafuerte aka ZeroBriant likes his mashup art. He would also like you to buy a t-shirt, which is available here for a limited time.

Portal 2 Companion Bot IRL

Keller — Thu, 02 Jun 2011 21:32:04 +0000

The folks over at Technically Magic have painstakingly created something that every Portal fan should be squealing in delight over: A replica of Atlas from Portal 2. Details are nonexistent limited as to the whys and wherefores of making such and exquisitely geeky creation, but it wouldn’t be the first time several days of a fan’s life were spent building a geeky labor of love just for the hell of it. George Lucas Strikes Back

Keller — Thu, 02 Jun 2011 19:14:39 +0000

I want this to be real. Please please please tell me this is real. But even if it’s not it’s still better than anything George Lucas has made for the last 20 years. [Via /Film] This sooooooo explains everything if it’s real.

Anonymous Vs. Sony

Keller — Thu, 02 Jun 2011 18:26:09 +0000

Now that the Sony’s PSN is (finally) back up, The Extra Credits Team over at The Escapist has a great take on the whole PSN takedown and the role Anonymous played (or didn’t play) in the attack that not only kept millions of gamers from networked play and online shopping for weeks but jeopardized the credit of millions card holders from around the world.

Thirsty for interesting fan art? Then you can thank David Schwen who designed these pop culture icons as minimalist soda cans. (Flickr, via Threadless)

The BrewMaster — Thu, 02 Jun 2011 16:19:47 +0000

All you need to build your own personal and portable zombie-resistant shelter is One (1) Concrete Canvas building-in-a-bag, air and water. Wait 24 hours you have your own fireproof Quonset style concrete bunker that’s impervious to gunfire, the elements and the impending horde of the undead. [Via Sweet & Nerdy]
