When Louis Vuitton commissioned Chameleon Visual for someone to repurpose their small leather goods as cuddly critters, there was nobody better suited for the task than Billie Achilleos. After all, Achilleos previously designed a similar series of much smaller LV animals last year. Unlike last years’ rather sterile, lab specimen, preserved-in-jars feel, this years critters are decidedly warmer, fuzzier and cuddlier (with my own personal favorite being the armadillo, but the beaver is a close second).
Each one of this year’s four animals are intended to represent a distinct feature of the Louis Vitton’s goods. The armadillo shows leather quality, the chameleon shows color variety, the grasshopper shows off the zippers and snaps and the beaver — well, besides being cute as hell the beaver is supposed to show off the organization. There’s also a video down below that shows off the design and assembly process. [Via Gizmodo]
